Shivarajkumar's 100th film Jogaiah

Clearly, when a film-maker does something, he has to do it differently. Director Prem’s much anticipated film Jogaiah, which is wife Rakshitha’s first production and Shivarajkumar’s 100th film, is all set to hit the screens this week. The film will be released at two big cinema halls in Gandhinagar, at a time when dozens of films are trying hard to find one good hall there for a release.

Producer Rakshitha says, “Since there is a lot of anticipation for the film, we are releasing it in two main cinema halls in Gandhinagar. While Santosh theatre will see the 2D version of the film playing there, we will screen the 3D version at Kapali theatre.” The film is said to be releasing in a record number of screens across the state.

With the hype around the film, it is set to have fetched its makers big money as well, with record distribution figures in the various sectors in the state. A source from the unit says, “While the production cost has been high, with the graphics and the 3D work, the film’s distribution rights’ sales have ensured that most of the money has already been recovered.”

DNA has learnt that the film’s acknowledgement credits will have many politicos’ names. “These credits will include R Ashok, V Somanna, Shobha Karandlaje, Jaggesh and Balachandra Jharkiholi. We will also be thanking some of the actors from the other industries, who attended our film’s launch, including actors Suriya, Vijay and Chiranjeevi,” says Rakshitha.

Coincidentally, it is learnt that director Prem is also planning a special show for politicians. A source from the unit tells us, “The film has a satire track that takes on the state of politics in the country. In fact, in some of the publicity posters, Prem has even stated saying ‘Watch out for a new government from August 19’, the date of Jogaiah’s release.”

The film’s crew has taken to a massive publicity campaign. “We’re currently giving away Jogaiah t-shirts and caps, apart from many posters, including some 3D posters to the many fans’ associations. We’re already readying up with big cut outs outside the halls where the film will be released shortly, to create the anticipation,” reveals Rakshitha.
